Opportunity Sheffield’s aim is that everyone in Sheffield has access to good, sustainable employment and the many economic, social and health benefits this brings.

This is why we offer fully funded employment support in communities across the city – because nobody should be left to fend for themselves in the jobs market.

If you’re out of work and wanting to get into employment, or currently in work but at risk of becoming unemployed, Pathways to Work can offer all the help you need.

Our offer to you

Across all our employment projects, you can work 1:1 with a specialist employment support advisor, who will be dedicated to helping you prepare for the workplace and find a job.

Our team can help you:

  • develop your skills and confidence and support your job search
  • overcome any obstacles preventing you from working, including health conditions
  • apply for local vacancies not available elsewhere
  • access funding to get into work and stay in employment

If you're out of work

If you’re out of work, you’re entitled to receive funded employment support on any of our Pathways to Work projects. We’ll assess your needs and interests, then support you to overcome any obstacles which may be preventing you from working.

If you're currently employed

If you’re currently employed, but looking to change jobs or develop your career, we can help you too. Opportunity Sheffield offers funded training and wide-ranging support while you’re in work.

We can also help anyone who is at risk of redundancy or of leaving their current employment.

We're flexible to suit you

Our community-based projects provide a warm welcome and a flexible approach to employment support, with no mandatory requirements.

You’ll have access to a flexible participant budget to assist with travel, equipment and various other costs. We also offer links to a range of complementary services, including health, learning and language support, to help your journey to the workplace.

Access to vacancies you won’t find elsewhere

Opportunity Sheffield works closely with employers across Sheffield to create vacancies specifically designed for our Pathways to Work participants.

As well as putting you forward for these unique roles, we can offer support to help you settle into the workplace.

This includes working with your employer to ensure any reasonable adjustments are put in place.
