Employment & Skills Strategic Plan 2025 goes live

Sheffield’s Employment and Skills Strategic Plan 2025 has now gone live.

Developed by Sheffield Employment & Skills Advisory Board (SESAB), the plan sets out a clear vision for a city where everyone can access the skills, support, and opportunities they need to thrive.

The plan was launched at a reception on Monday 22 September, hosted by local manufacturing firm Gripple Ltd in GLIDE House, Attercliffe.

Speakers at the event included Cllr Tom Hunt, Leader of Sheffield City Council, and Angela Foulkes CBE, Principal of The Sheffield College and Chair of SESAB.

At the event, strategic partners, employability professionals and local businesses had the opportunity to feedback on the Action Areas that will drive delivery of the plan.

The four Action Areas are:

  1. Support employers to grow and thrive through improved employment and skills
  2. Develop effective and accessible skills pathways to good quality employment
  3. Provide tailored hyper local support to address labour market disparities
  4. Work with Sheffield’s anchor institutions, employers and investors to maximise social value

SESAB will be forming Action Area Boards in the coming weeks to oversee delivery of specific actions detailed in the Strategic Plan.
